Starting Strong Conference
On September 24, 2026, clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and community partners came together at Morehouse School of Medicine to strengthen care for pregnant women with opioid use disorder across Georgia.
Starting Strong: Pregnancy, Opioid Use, and Transforming Systems of Care
Dr. Carolyn Sufrin of Johns Hopkins gave the keynote. Throughout the day, treatment providers, researchers, and policy leaders took the stage alongside mothers who shared their own stories of pregnancy, recovery, and separation. The room was full, and the conversations kept going well past the last session.
Co-hosted by Motherhood Beyond Bars, CORAL, and Morehouse School of Medicine
