Embracing Love and Support:

What Incarcerated Moms Want Their Kids to Know

Today’s postpartum support group was deep. One member of our community broke down in tears as several of her friends walked in. She’s been transferred to a new dorm where she knows no one and has lost all her belongings in the transfer. Seeing her friends was such a relief.

We learned to finger-knit in preparation for holiday gift-making (it’s gonna be a process, y’all...).

And then I asked them to write a quick note outlining what they want their kids to know. The main message: their kids are so loved.
